JAMES (JIMMY) K. M. NEWTON, IV

Since joining Max J. Derbes, Inc. January of 2007, Jimmy has expanded the commercial leasing and sales division. Jimmy has been involved in numerous transactions, in which he has represented both the Buyer and Seller, as well as the Tenant and Landlord during lease transactions.

Jimmy currently serves as a Director for the Commercial Investment Division (CID) of the New Orleans Metropolitan Area Realtors Board. He is a candidate for the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation and has already completed CCIM course 101, 102 & 103.

On tenant representation assignments, Jimmy has represented many regional, national and International companies including Alsco, Belfor, SAVARD Lab & Marine, BCG Engineering & Consulting, Inc., Robichaux Automation & Control, Inc. and Moxie Media, Inc.

Prior to joining our firm, Jimmy worked as a commercial real estate intern at Thalhimer, Cushman & Wakefield in Richmond, VA, assisting brokers on adaptive reuse projects and studies of buildings in Richmond’s Historic Fan District. He also worked for Monroe Properties in Richmond, VA restoring historic buildings and properties into loft apartments.

Jimmy attended the University of Georgia and received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Terry College of Business with a concentration in Real Estate Investments.
